Differences Between Chrome Tan vs Veg Tan

I thought I'd do a quick video running through some of the main differences between Chrome Tan and Veg Tan to help if you're maybe confused about what the differences are.

I so wish I could have seen this podcast before purchasing so much chrome tan leather!!! I did manage to get some veg tan scraps so I can at least practice, but my hope of making leather wallets as gifts kinda just evaporated....for a while at least. Thanks so much for this video I was struggling trying to figure out how to burnish my edges. It makes sense now that what I have is Chrome tanned leather. I don't have edge paint though so I might stitching it and turning the wallet inside out. Thanks 👍

Love using vegtan, I don't think I've made anything out of chrometan so far. Seems like it's mostly used for garments and upholstery. I like the natural leather, that way I can dye it however I want.

Question..I bought oil tanned leather for a project. After a day of setting around it gave off a chemical odor. Is this temporary? Also would the salts destroy decorative metal rivets I intend to use? Thanks.

If I would want to make a creditcardholder (with 6 spots for the cards), would the veg tanned leather be too stiff (thick) to get the cards out or would it be possible?

How much more expensive is veg tan leather generally, say for a hide? Is it 50% more, twice as much?

is there a difference in comfort? for exaple, , respective to season the leather in cars gets very cold or very hot and is slippery. i guess it is chrome tanned. would veg tan be any different? thanks.
