hi please help me. i just got the d5300  when shooting through the view finder it works fine autofocus and take pictures but when i switch to the LCD display screen live view mode my camera button doesn't do anything. it doesn't focus nor take pictures i don't know if theres a settings that is turned off. please help me  :(

Got it sorted.. there are two info keys! One that's labeled info and one with just an i. Press the info button 4 times when in live view. Phew, got it.

i cant find the exposure meter in liveview even in manual mode!!Is this a software issue, as my autofocous also doesnt work most of the times!!

Hey thank's for explaining how to change aperture in Live View. I think that's what everyone is complaining about but you show the trick. I'll buy dslr for the first time and I am thinking about the Nikon d5300. The video quality and function is very important for me and the lack of "aperture in live view" was a thorn in my flesh but now I know it's possible there is another reason to buy this camera.

I keep watching your professional and informative videos and thanks for all that. Would you please help me in picking a Camera between Nikon D5300 with 18-140mm lens and Canon 70D with 18-135mm STM lens? My purpose is to shoot photos mostly rather than videos? Please guide me?

Just a quick note, at 01:40, I guess bracketing is available when shooting raw too. From the context you could get the idea that you suggest otherwise. Overall a neat little video though :-)

I was looking to learn how to control display of the audio levels meter displayed in live view. It pops up from time to time but then dissapears.. I would wish to be able to make it constantly visible. I generally use manual level control setting with an external mic.

This is the perfect macro camera short of the D810 but when using the LiveView, zooming into the subject to see sharpness creates a horrible screen lag.  I've had two D5300's and it doesn't matter what lens is used.  I wish software could fix this, but I think it's a poor choice in hardware.  I hope I'm wrong and that a firmware is released.

It looks as though Nikon is moving to better movie options with the D5300 and may be getting ready for EVF and touch screen. Can but hope.

I can't control my aperture while on live view mode. Scrolling the dial is not changing my aperture on D5300. Can you please help?

on M (manual) mode can you set the FN button to iso and change the iso that way???

d5300 just seems to be a rock solid choice for this price range. I'd go with it over a d7000 for sure

There is no MULTIPLE EXPOSURE option in my nikon d5500 and another problem is i cant really take any continues shoot except single. So it'd be helpful for me if you care to suggest me anything. Thanks

i have a problem with live view in the d5300 especially when i shoot video in miniature effect its slow and move in a delay mode and when i take picture at live view there is a delay. is this normal do you have the same problem ?
