I always thought it was bizarre that Padme went from “don’t look at me like that it makes me uncomfortable” to “I truly deeply love you” with the only change between being Anakin’s body count.

When Padme sees something broken, whether it be a corrupt senate, or a good natured Jedi going down the wrong path, it's in her character to try to fix it from within. Not so different from Anakin's engineering mindset, albeit social engineering rather than mechanical. Furthermore, the fact that she was still able to see the good in Anakin, despite the atrocity he committed, was something she passed to Luke and that's what saved the galaxy.

Just my take on why she chose to marry him.

I feel like you missed the part where he grew up as a slave, was friends with his slayver, was constantly bullied by all the other kids and then was taken by the Jedi to be groomed into a lethal weapon and put on a pedestal but never given the respect he deserved. And the one person (other than his mother) that he clung to as a child he develops emotions for but never taught how to deal with said emotions.

He was essentially a Used and abused punching bag that was given the task of bringing balance to the entire galaxy while being broken and emotionally disturbed.
