Boris Johnson clashes with European Union on trade plans

Boris Johnson and Michel Barnier each outlined their vision for the future trade agreement between the EU and the UK.

In two separate speeches, the leaders clashed on how they see Britain doing trade after Brexit.

Boris Johnson has said the UK must become champion of global free trade as he warned that protectionists were "gaining ground".

The Prime Minister told those gathered at the National Maritime Museum that free trade was "being choked" and that "the mercantilists are everywhere, the protectionists are gaining ground".
