Peel Regional Police in Ontario say hundreds of vehicles worth $33.2 million have been recovered in a major auto theft investigation — with 37 containers worth of cars found at the Port of Montreal.

Det. Greg O’Connor told reporters on Monday that in October 2023 police began a large-scale investigation called Project Odyssey after receiving information about stolen vehicles within a shipping area in Brampton, Ont.

Officers first recovered two stolen vehicles there, O’Connor said. In December 2023, he said police were informed about a transport truck loaded with stolen vehicles in Mississauga, Ont. Police were able to intercept that truck in Brampton and the driver was arrested.

So far, 16 arrests have been made, with 10 additional arrest warrants issued. One officer described the operation as the regions "most significant auto theft investigation to date."

Your pathetic arrests don't do squat; unless they are accompanied by deportations- Canadians demand such a response.

jail not bail, J.T. is implicit in this situation by not increasing the number of scans carried out at ports in Canada. J.T. complains there is not money for this - follow the money, whose pockets are being filled.

It's nice to see the cops enforcing the law. Looking at the faces of the suspects, what comes to mind are (1) slogans about "diversity is our strength", and (2) the federal government's "catch and release" rules for repeat offenders.

Those charged and out on bail need ankle trackers to ensure they are following their bail conditions.

Montreal is a huge hub of foreign and criminal influence and this continually persists because the penalties are so lax, it's completely worth the risk to them.

There are those who argue that just releasing the names and photos of those suspects is racist 🤪
