BMW E60 535xi Hood Won't Open

The hood on this BMW E60 535xi won't open. When you pull the hood release nothing happens. In this video I document the way I went about get the hood to open.

Thank you for this. It worked on my 2007 530xi. I will also add that since it was still hard to get ahold of the cables, I felt my hands up in there and wrapped a zip tie around both cables and created a small loop with the zip tie to pull down on the cables and my stuck hood popped open. Found cable that goes to both latches very loose, original cable and old car, so used a zip tie pull up a little of the slack in the cable and works fine none. Zip ties are just like duct tape in an old car.
