PLA Eastern Theater Command completes long-range live-fire drill in Taiwan Strait

An army unit under the Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) held a long-range live-fire shooting drill in the Taiwan Strait on Thursday at around 13:00 and carried out precision strikes on specific areas in the eastern part of the Taiwan Strait.

The PLA Eastern Theater Command said the expected results have been achieved.

"We have successfully completed the long-range live-fire shooting drill in the Taiwan Strait and achieved the expected results. It has fully tested the troop's combat capability under real-combat conditions, and bolstered confidence of army officers and soldiers to win the battle. We will resolutely follow the orders of the Party and make sure our artillery never misses targets, so as to safeguard the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of our motherland with high morale and precise firepower," said Jin Zong, a battalion commander of an artillery brigade under the command.
