Please join host Amir Oren for the first of a two-part interview with Brigadier General (Ret.) Yom-Tov Tamir.

Our guest is a member of the Israel Defense Forces’ generation of most experienced armor combat officers, who between 1967 and 1982 took part in multiple wars, campaigns and battles. He commanded troops in combat on all levels from company to division and was decorated for bravery when his battalion absorbed the onslaught of the Egyptian Army at the Suez Canal in the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

BG Tamir also held senior staff positions at Northern Command and the IDF Planning Branch. His last military assignment was service in the United Kingdom as Israel’s Defense Attaché and Ministry of Defense representative.
