Another great video, David. Is that Firefly planisphere the one you recommend? And what about iPhone apps like “Planisphere” or “Pocket Universe”? Does it make sense just to use something like that, or is a plastic planisphere still better?

If you have access to a laptop while you're stargazing then Stellarium is a great piece of free software. Stick a piece of red cellophane over your laptop screen and it won't spoil your night vision.
