How I Learned Surfskate Bowl Riding in 30 Days

On April 22, 2021, I first attempted to surfskate a bowl. On July 31, I finished my 30-day surfskate bowl riding practice by surfskating at the skate park in Venice Beach, California, the birthplace of both vertical skating and surfskating.

This program totally works! I (turning 43 and appreciate the age focused insights) can now surf skate bowls, half pipe and pools and can generate speed until my legs get tired! I just followed your advice to the letter. Park wheels were huge in this and your other video about choosing a board were instrumental in that because my skate shop questioned me on putting park wheels on a surfskate! You literally inspired me to finally get my carver C7 (had to wait 2 months to get shipped to Australia), I thought I was “old” to start skating on my 30s, watched all your videos, and learned with you how to pump and I’m feeling GREAT with that now, after months skating and going everyday and practicing.

Hey Steve, I'm a 53 year old Onewheel rider for almost a year now. I've seen surfskates videos online and been dreaming more and more about actually doing it. So, I bought a Carver Channel Island Flyer C7 just yesterday. Man, riding a Onewheel is so much different than an actual board! I need to re-learn what I know about board riding. As you said, I've been researching and watching tutorials on surfskates and feel confident about it. Your video really inspired me to go for it while being disciplined and consistent.
