Hi Yunior F, I recently purchased a 2018 BMW x4M40i (f26) I want to start coding some option on the car. For starter just what you did in this video. I have a question, why do you use this coding method vs the carly or others out there. Forgive as I am new to the BMW brand.

For fciscokid    I have a 2016 X4M40i VIN #36 which was the first one released for public sale. I have tried 2 Carlys and the updated software, and decided the esys was more risk than I wanted and then found the ios BimmedCode app. Heaven! I found BimmerCode to be easy to use and buy the bluetood 4.0 OBD the author recommends. He will also respond to any question/problem you may run across. You can do everything you really will need or want to do with the BimmerCode app in less than 10 minutes. If you were a newby like me, forget the esys and buy the better than Carly, BimmerCode.  Then you can get a laugh out of all the non M cars drooling that they can put an "M" emblem on their dash. Must add about 100hp. Next they will buy the $5 Chinese "M" emblems to finish their masterpiece. But, I digress, BimmerCode is truly a no brainer and quicker than this video.

If you enable the auto folding mirrors, will there be an option in iDrive to turn the auto folding on and off? I’d like the comfort closing delay to be 0.0s, but would like to be able to completely disable the feature sometimes. Thanks!

The easiest way now, with more coding options and more reliable than ICarly (I've used both) is a VGate OBD connector $26 and BimmerCode app on Android or IOS $27. Try the Demo. I stumbled into this but apparently it's been around for a little while. I tried the cable and all the software in German and was too afraid I'd brick my car and then have it flat bedded to the dealer for a $400 recoding. With BimmerCode theres no searching for numbers, guessing at the interpretation and NO SCREWING UP! This recode show could have been done in less tha 5 minutes. I think the author had something to do with Carly as some of the scripting looks similar but you don't have to buy the Carly device just the software.
