Exactly how I do mine, only I prefer fresh runners from the garden if possible. But you are spot on with the grease, it's what makes them taste good 👍😊😊😊

I use them Glory green beans, black eyed peas and such.

My mom used to keep a jar of bacon grease under the kitchen sink. She would use an old nylon stocking over the top of the jar to filter out all the larger bacon bits but I’ll tell you what! It made the best fried chicken I ever had! Try it sometime! You won’t be disappointed!

My Gramma (up in WV) made em with that good ol smoked bacon n bacon grease. Smoke Ham Hocks were good too. She grew Roma Green Beans n canned em every year.
Sometimes Gramma added corn in the beans. Mmmmm! And sometimes we had taters in em. Enjoy.
