In this video I go over the definition of reference frames, and show a number of examples of inertial and non-inertial frames for spacecraft. I show how NASA's SPICE system defines reference frames, the Earth Centered Inertial frame and Earth centered Earth fixed groundtracks. In the next few videos I will be covering rotation matrices, euler angles, and quaternions (including how to compute them in Python), which are all essential and heavily used for spacecraft, rockets, and other robotics systems.
