I would’ve never thought I would’ve had an opportunity to restore this doll, let alone own one. This doll is one of those white whale items to many collectors, and so sought after that she is in a price range that’s unattainable to most collectors. This of course is a “side part American Girl Barbie”. She was made for less than a year, so she isn’t a common girl to come across.

This doll shown up here in shabby condition, but I saw hope and life left in her! And to be honest, we have tackled worse on this channel. I was very pleased with how she turned out too!!

Quick tip for anyone who deals with 1960s Barbies when comes to the shoes. Specifically, the mules never just put them right on their feet. they will split on top 90% of the time. You need to put them in boiling water for for about a min ( they will not melt) and put Barbie‘s feet in boiling water for just a few seconds just enough to soften then place the shoes back on it will reshape the plastic of the shoes, and you don’t have to worry about them splitting, you don’t have to do this every time just the first time.
