My visit to Huntsville AL to see ALCO's at the Mercury and Chase Railroad, they have two S2's and a rare RSD1 and I was very fortunate that they ran the RSD1 when I was there.

It’s good to see an RSD-1 still in service. Those industrial-style army beauties are getting more and more rare to see in operation. This looks like one of the ones used on the Trans-Iranian Railway. The slanted windows and narrow cab roof hinted at a past life on the Trans-Iranian Railway.

Very nice! I grew up near an ALCO facility - watched them build some beautiful engines!

When I watched this video it was the first time I heard a WABCO A-2 horn used on a locomotive. It sounds pretty loud for a small horn.

hello, could you make a video on the engine and other equipment of this diesel locomotive, under the hood and in the cab?

Soviet TEM-2 and TEM-1 copy of RSD 1. They even have the same diesel sound, amazing.

Great shots mate;) glad to see the railroad tourism making a comeback, especially in "Sweet Home Alabama" sorry, I couldn't resist the pun, it's a great song, lol. Btw, what was with the police at 14:42? Was he guarding the crossing?

Hey Baldwinloco12
I'm in the process of making a video on the Alco road switchers. Would it be ok if I used some footage of the rsd 1 in the video? I've been having a lot of trouble getting footage since they are so rare.
