Dashcam video captures wrong-way driver moments before fatal head-on crash in South Bay

An ABC 10News viewer shared dashcam video showing the moments before a wrong-way motorist crashed head-on with another vehicle occupied with SDPD detectives.

Stay out of the speeding lane if possible. If using, only use it to pass, then get back in the middle or far lane. Wrong way drivers 90% of the time use that lane.

There is nothing scarier than having a wrong way driver coming toward you on a freeway. It happens so fast you barely realize what's going on before they are upon you.

Any person in their right mind when going the wrong way would turn around proceeding in the right direction when it’s safe to do so. Such a sad tragedy.

Wow! Viewing that in car camera, you only have 3 to 4 seconds to process what is happening and make a life saving decision - and that's if you are paying 100% attention.

This happened to Our Sherrifs Daughter who was only 18. I think spikes are the answer. If you are doing 100 mph the wrong way at 10:00 in the morning, I don't think you're going to suddenly realize it.

This happened to my daughter’s friend’s father; a suicidal man heading the wrong way on fwy and killing him leaving a wife and 3 daughters. Very disturbing and sad for their families. May they Rest In Peace.
