borderlands 2 was the peak of gaming for me no micro transactions beautiful story line really fleshed out and detailed characters with their own unique gimiks the way the story was told felt new and refreshing and still does there's a variety of ways to play and so borderlands 2 still feels fresh 10 years later from 2012

I don't want to imagine myself losing my touch with videogames, but if I ever do, that won't change the fact that the entire Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack is going to be played at my funeral.

It’s just the act of maturing, it’s inevitable whether you like it or not. As a young unemployed gamer myself I can’t think about a time we’re I would have to drop gaming. But that’s just how life is. Respect to you being able to realize that the time is now.

Once a gamer always a gamer. It might be days, weeks, months.. but sooner or later the right game will come out at the right time to bring you back in

All power to you man. Personally, it depresses me thinking about losing my joy in gaming. Minecraft, COD, and SSB were my childhood and I want to do game dev in the future. I know it's not scary and I'm happy for those who wanna do other things. Hope you have much more success, dude.

It’s not growing up. It’s burn out. It happens to everyone and every subject. You just don’t enjoy video games anymore. Simple as that. It has nothing to do with age

As a young gamer I’m scared this’ll eventually be me. But I’m very happy you’re taking this next step in your life

Halo 3 was peak gaming, I’ve never seen any community get so hyped and rally together at the release of it. No micro transactions just grinding achievements for armor and titles. Peak gaming

There’s two things that I could think of; 1. Your brain is so used to the amount of dopamine that it releases therefore you feel bored, or “numb”. Or 2. You have a symptom of depression called “Lack of Interest” to where you feel like you don’t have the energy to do certain things even though you want to. Or maybe it could just be a lack of dopamine, or if you’re taking certain medications like ADHD medication. Then that usually means your body has gotten used to the medication and that gives you that weird feeling that no chemicals are going through your brain and everything feels boring or bland which can mean that either you need a higher dosage of that medication you’re taking, or it’s just flat out not working.

honestly, it sucks. I’m feeling that way rn at a young age but retro games usually helps me come back to video games which i feel grateful for.

I don't think I'll ever really stop playing video games since I always keep them as a seasonal hobby more than a day to day activity

That’s so true, I’m the same age as you and I only really get immersed in old games that I used to play when I was younger, newer games I can’t sit more than 30-60 minutes.
