Pure exploitation of her grief, sex and race.

Pathetic.

3 other men died with him...not one word from Abc about their spouses...they also got calls too!

Shame on the press and this widow for exploiting a hero's death.

I think she's just someone that doesn't like trump and this was an opportunity

They had her go along with the lie. It's so obvious.

I wish this platform could be used to offer sincere condolences to the family of a fallen hero. I’ll start by saying so sorry for your loss Mrs Johnson. Please know that I as a safe American citizen appreciates the service dedication and ultimate sacrifice of your husband. May God bless you and your family during this difficult time.

He couldn’t remember his name But yeah he went out of his way to make the phone call? That doesn’t really make much sense to me

They are some truly disturbing comments here from people saying that a widow would agree to disrespect her husbands memory by lying for money.

Everyone knows President Trump sometimes speaks in a different way than most people. So you might think he’s being rude, but that’s just his way of talking

I am SO SORRY for this poor woman’s loss, but I am EXTREMELY disgusted that she’s more concerned about making our president look like an ass than remembering her husband!

I doubt the President understood that he should have said “On behalf of a nation grateful for your husband’s service and sacrifice, I wish to offer Condolences to you and your family. You have sacrificed so much.” Then he should have shut up. Regardless of tone, this call was a time to express gratitude and sympathy, not to encapsulate an explanation. What a clod.

Question? Does the soldiers when they go to war expect to win or die? That is what they sign for. To fight for their country or die for. Its blunt truth

funny. she waited this long to respond if trump actually disrespected her husband

Don’t believe a word she is saying. Someone is paying her. I can’t believe this, another attempt to make someone look bad. If she has nothing to say on why of tv and fabricate a conversation that didn’t happen.

All service members fully realize that loss of life is possible and they do volunteer knowing this fact. I see nothing wrong with the President's comment.  I'm sorry this woman lost her husband and their children lost their father but she evidently is not a grown-up capable of grown-up conversations and hard truths.

all this is nothing, only started by that stupid women senator, they keep going on and on and making it three times bigger than it was in the first place, do I even get to hear the phone call no, but I have to listen to this BS go on and on, The Medea is the worst, they talk that women into keeping it up and might even tell her what to say, if anybody would think Trump would do anything on purpose they would have to be an idiot, general McCaffrey is right when he says just shut the Hell up, if I was Trump I would never call another person ever again period

People need to accept that this woman has no reason to fabricate and she lost her husband. Of course her husband new the risks but that is not the response to someone who has lost their husband. If it were a member of your family is that what you'd want to hear! Any of you who are getting ready to answer you really dont get it at all!!@
