I'm learning game Dev with pygame and I'm participating in Ludum Dare 48, the Jam, i only noticed this video now, duringy break.. and even tho my game looks like a 10yo game made with skretch fusion and the art skill of a rock.. I'm having a lot of fun :), thanks for this amazing thing that you keep running <3

LD48 was my first LD48 and i had a blast.. the amount of positive feedback and the supportive community was beyond awesome. I've made a few friends too :) It's a pleasure learning all the back stories and how deep it runs... btw cool QA Mike and i will try to stick with LDs until - at least - LD88 !! Thanks for this awesome jam and addictive community you've gathered through the years!

Fun fact: The creators of the popular game Growtopia have both won ludum dare. Hamumu (Mike Hommel) has won 3 times and Seth (Seth Robinson) has won 2 times.

I see Mike can't even decide how it's pronounced, there was a dar-eh mixed in there somewhere! Thanks for all your work on this over the years, taking part in Ludum Dare was one of the things that gave me the confidence to move into professional development. Now I have a job working from home that doesn't really feel like work.

Thank you for all your work, Mike! I have to say, themes seem to be getting better recently (but that's probably VERY subjective). Nevertheless, I'd be fine with making the privilege to suggest new themes contingent on being in the top 100 during the previous event. Because the stuff that needed to be slaughtered was... exceedingly low quality. 😂 Or maybe restrict the amount of suggestions people can make to one?
