Feels like the discord devs break something almost every other day...
For example, yesterday the official client was unusable because it tried to force update from version 0.0.90 to 0.0.89.

Note that the widely-hated recent UI redesign from a couple weeks ago was pushed to Mainline, PTB, and Canary, all at the same time...
There was zero beta testing before pushing it live.

Use Equibop not because I have anything against anyone but because more customization and choice is always a good thing, like for instance not only being able to change the tray icon but you can customize the startup animation pretty darn cool cause it can literally be anything.. one of the main principles in FOSS/Open source is choice

In my experience, there’s no winning with any of the clients.

Discord streams fine for me, but I have to use workarounds to get it to not play ALL desktop audio.

Goofcord is hit or miss as to whether it launches or not. When it does, it behaves like Vesktop where it will eventually cause momentary loss of internet connection while in a voice chat.

I use a gtx 1070 so what i say might be irrelevant, but i get crazy lag whenever i try to screenshare the entire screen instead of a specific application on the main discord client.

Didn't realize screen sharing used software encoding :( wish arrpc also detected native Linux games.

WAYLAND! My only problem with these other apps is no push to talk. Push to talk is required.

Using cachyos all versions of discord (non flatpack) and 3rd party ones dont screenshare properly for me.
I cant figure it out and im on a 7900xtx 7700x using the mesa driver.

Its driving me mad because their discord doesnt help and the only people experiencing my issue dont have solutions.
Just tried using legcord VAAPI enabled and screensharing cs2 will work but the screensharing drops frames terribly like a slideshow.

Yet, if I use obs and stream everything works perfectly

i use discord in the browser most of the time unless im going in vc then i use equibop. the reason why i use the browser mostly is bc i have tridactyl so i can use keyhints to navigate bc i dont really like using the mouse it hurts my wrist

I have zero issues either the official package. Honestly Wayland is literally only more work for no reason. X11 plays every game fine and sometimes better.

I used to live the customized lifestyle but man if it works don't change it lol

I don't like the devs behind vesktop. They immediately close issues with the upstream tag, only to realize it's their fault and quietly fix it in a future update. They call people homophobic for just asking how to apply a different icon. And they generally show very toxic, aggressive behavior.

I rather use discord with limited features than a software developed by people I don‘t trust
