I agree, schools need to involve parent immediately before something happens and its too late. They are as vague as possible whn telling us there was a problem. My daughter was threatened and was being lured to the bathrooms to get beat up and was being threatend on social media and instead of contacting the parents of the kids they told me they are ganna keep an eye out and told my daughter just dont be alone and dont go where there is no one around. And to tell thm if anything happens. Instead of preventing problems they are waiting for the problem to happen and give warnings evn tho some1 got hurt

Public School leadership needs to include/involve the "Parents" of these students.. Accountability Begins with Parents!

Oh here's an idea for a start. Yes parents need to be involved, aware, and definitely discipline their children. The discipline part has definitely gone away in my opinion. I can remember getting my ass beat so to speak by my mom when I screwed up that doesn't happen anymore. The results from that is kids have no fear. Number two, I can remember when kids got suspended and thrown out of school for messing up Major. Then you were forced to find another school possibly to go to. I don't believe schools are doing that anymore either. Number 3, when one of these kids does something severe even like a bomb threat they need to be held accountable by the local authorities and arrested. The problem with that then falls on the judge on whether or not they just give him a little slap on the wrist and send them on their way which seems to be the case in some instances. There's a huge lack of reprimand and consequences towards these kids in the past couple of decades I saw this coming 20 years ago when parents started saying you should never hit your kid you should just talk to them. That might be good in some cases possibly but hows that actually working out. And lastly which will never happen, I wish social media was a thing of the past, put unfortunately it's here to stay and it's up to parents to make the decision when it comes to their even 7 year old and buying that 7 year old a phone or a tablet I mean come on really let's get back to some old-school common sense and discipline
