Not only is it a genre itself but, if we're going off YOUR description, it is NOT only sped up and heightened in pitch but it also has an increased bass. Now as for it being "right" you adjust the sound as need be and if it doesn't sound right when it's pitch is to high then you may have to adjust the sound so its audible so what she did isn't necessarily wrong.
