Druids do not have to be vegetarians. This was not an official game rule, but too often in my gaming experience players and DMs have insisted upon it. My last druid was not. Predators eat prey. My druid had no problem with eating meat nor hunting for food. Hunting for sport or general cruelty were no-nos, but hunting for sustenance and domesticating for utilities such as clothing (hide, leather) were fine. Fur for warmth is ok. Fur for luxury extravagance he'd frown upon. Some tree chopping for lumber and fire logs is ok. Deforestation is wrong. Growing tree farms is fine. Humans/sapient creatures are also part of nature. They are on top of the predator list. Interacting with and using Nature respectfully is all good. It's the excess exploitation that's bad.

"...turn into a snake; it never helps."

I understood that reference.

I once played a Plasmoid Moon Druid who multiclassed into Barbarian and came from a giant moon made of cheese. He had previously worked in the 'cheese-quarries' on the island but had inexplicably fallen to the material plane one day.

Will be playing a Land Druid High Elf with magic initate wiz for extra spells. Spells are quite powerful, and the druid spell list has great options. Circle of the Land spells makes the versatility even greater. I'm very excited!

I've always hoped there would be a new druid subclass that add additional wildshape forms. Like wild shaping into fey, monstrosities, aberrations, or elementals. So many specific options for flavor.

4:13 A chain shirt is medium armour, not light. Light armour is just padded, leather, and studded leather.

If you want an elementalist build, and old species are allowed at you table, go Kobold. Take the cantrip option and pick the new Sorcerous Burst. Most of the elemental type and cascade on 8's. It's not super powerful early but at 5th level your chance of a cascade doubles.

My DM is planning on running SKT soon and I plan on playing a storm giant runt with the sea druid as a chill surfer dude.😊

Favorite Druid examples of mine actually come from computer games. One is Cenarius from WoW, who (in one of the novels) just summoned a deer from the forest, killed it and cooked it for his guests, because everything in the forest has its purpose and game is supposed to provide sustenance for predators and hunters.

The others are actually from the flavor texts of cosmetic sets in Diablo 4. Aside from the ones that are inspired by the different regions on the map, there's the one who is like an elite royal guard to a sacred tree, another who walks among "civilized" societies and uses his social connections to roam more freely than other Druids. But my most favorite of them is the Punisher Druid, who's clad in human bones and is basically hunting Druids that have strayed from the right path and have done damage to what they're supposed to protect.

Heroes' Feast is a must-have spell if you have enough money and can hire a workshop to turn out gem-encrusted bowls for you full-time. (...at which point as a DM I'd feel obliged to have a side story develop about a threat to the supply chain, in terms of gems and/or workable base materials. Or the local artisan who makes spell-component-grade flashy tableware gets kidnapped, or sick, or is one of the victims of the BBEG's latest raid or attack.)

Never really considered a druid until yalls videos. Pointy hat also had a great idea I'd love to use: an automaton druid that was a robot gardener for an abandoned estate. Circle of stars and it's starry form is it powering up and his power core is glowing through cracks in its metal making the illusion of constellations. I'd make all the spells some kind of mechanization of the bot, like processing anything it consumes and rearranging it's molecules to make goodberries or diverting the core heat to make a blast of fire

I created an Air Genasi Circle of the Stars Druid a few weeks back and used it at a one shot!
Super fun to role play as an elementalist outside combat and then shapeshift into your choice of one of the 3 Starry forms as per the situation during combat. Love the creative freedom this subclass can provide when it comes to choosing things like your Star Map, your connection to nature, the stars etc. Choosing Air Genasi as my species and Guide as my background added more depth to how my character is connected to the celestial elements and nature in general. He also smokes Panaeolo (aka the Nether Herb) to 'attune to the weave' and see nature's 'true beauty' while in his trance. :P
