Austin Buddy Naked Amps for AX8 review

It appears that Austinbuddy has discontinued the Naked Amps for Axe 8/Axe FX II. You can now only purchase it for the Axe III, which is a shame since so many of us still use the II; unfortunate as I would have bought it right now.

You don't need a headphone amp with the AX8, I use a Y adapter plugged in to the (non XLR) OUT 1/2, as explained here:

Great point about being careful how you reference your sound. There is a distinct lack of options for us AX8 (or Helix, Kemper, Atomic...) users when it comes to monitoring. I think the biggest mistake people make is just plugging it into the FX return of their favourite valve amp...
I'm currently in the prototype phase of some simple flat response monitors what will match perfectly with quality amp modellers. All going well, we should have a product ready for market (and built here in Brisbane) ready in the next few of months...

It's great to hear someone using a Fractal not for metal! Sounds really detailed and tube-like. How does it feel to play? Much similarity between the AX-8 and your handwired Vox?

It's the little things that get me. When you broke out into Dear Prudence on the telecaster bridge pickup, I threw my arms in the air and yelled, "yeah!!!". It is, in my opinion THE greatest Beatles song and sometimes goes overlooked. But, the tone was fantastic. They really have nailed amp modeling. I have a Fender mustang amp and it's not the greatest amp modeler out there but it does the job. Although you mentioned testing the modeler just guitar straight in, how well does the modeler handle pedals run in the front? Specifically distortion/ fuzz/ overdrives? Does it have an effects loop too?

Good job. I initially balked at the idea of paying an additional $60 USD for something that’s already hiding somewhere inside the AX8, but the Naked 700 would save a ton of time. I haven’t yet gotten my Vox or Fender Deluxe models to sound that good, so maybe ...

Okay, so where did that Tele come from? Is it the one in your Danocaster visit video? There's reflection on the headstock so I can't see what the name is but it doesn't look like Fender. It's quite lovely. Don't see many gold Teles.

Nice video. I mainly play an american strat and american tele on my Axe Fx2 (II). You you say that most of the naked amp presets are well suited for single coil guitars. Thanks
