The Mystery of the Ghost Ship of Mary Celeste

December 5, 1872 - Approximately 400 miles east of the Azores, the British brig Dei Gratia stumbled upon an eerie sight that would ignite one of the most enduring mysteries in maritime history. The crew had found the Mary Celeste, floating, empty. There were no signs of distress, and no signs of where the crew had gone.

I read about this mystery back in primary school in the early 90's. It's 2024 now and we have a new mystery about the Malaysian Airline that vanished without a trace. Even with the technology we have now, it still can't be found.

I remember reading about this a few years ago. A mystery it is,

It is possible the Mary Celeste was suddenly abandoned following a series of problems with the voyage and the vessel. That leaking pump could be a big clue to what they thought. The ship must've suffered technical problems somehow resulting in it flooding and perhaps veering off track, and the captain couldn't keep up with it all. There's also my probable theory of even pirates being responsible for this, but this video now makes me think the former more likely.

As for what happened to the crew, including Captain Briggs and his family, I don't know yet, but I hope they survived the ordeal. Either they became victims of the open ocean from perhaps exposure or foul play or they survived and just ended up in the Azores or Europe. I actually heard almost a week after the Mary Celeste was found, two rafts with American flags were found washed up on a beach in Spain. So maybe the latter happened and as for why they were never seen again, possibly because perhaps they were unable to return to America so maybe they stayed in Europe and rebuilt their lives there.

The captain ordered everyone into the lifeboat because of the fumes which came from the cargo
Because the crew was affected by the fumes they didn't tye the rope from the lifeboat properly to the ship and it became undone , separating the lifeboat plus rope from the ship
The ship now had no-one on board and that is how it was found
