In this episode of Revival Cycles Tech Talk, Stefan presents our own starter solenoid kit that took us years to source, test, and build. It's the kit we use on all our bikes and now we are making it available to everyone. Watch as Stefan explains what makes our kit so special and also how to hook it up. You won't want to miss this one!

Man, thank you for taking time to do these videos. I know enough about wiring to start small fires, you're an excellent teacher! I will purchase your products simply because you guys have givin me the confidence to do this through your videos.

Brilliant, I think I need one. Trying to hook up my original 82 CB750 unit to my M unit using those crappy individual cables and pretty sure I have them in the wrong place!

my first comment on this channel. Thanks guys for your amazing insight to motorcycles! M unit, cables, tech talk I love this stuff. I'm 60 been a biker all my life and learned from other guys as you do! but a lot was total crap! I now have a Yamaha FJR 1300 and love it but never ever thought about doing stuff to it myself ( oil air brake fluid) I'm looking and learning from your back catalogue Stefan good job !

Where was this when I was replacing the solenoid on my 78 Gold Wing and found a previous owner had replaced the main fuse with a length of wire!? Excellent-looking kit. I liked that guy with the beard better, though.

Hey Revival Cycles I appreciate the great video.

I have a question regarding when the primary wires are energized (connected to 12v battery, start switch are closed).
this engages to make the mangtic coil, which closes the Positive of the Battery to the starter Motor. Why does the Primary wires not overheat and burn if is connected too the same Battery that uses alot of Amps to Power the starter motor.

I hope you understand my question.

Cheers David

Could you run a wire of the main fuse terminals to a key/switch which then is connected to terminal 3 thus giving you a fuse between the battery and key/switch while also allowing you to run without an M unit?

Great Video! But I'm confused about the power supply for the m.unit.
It comes with a 7 AWG battery cable. If I power the m.unit through this solenoid I will be using a much smaller wire, correct?

Hi
I have just started to fit this bit of kit to my bike, the problem being, the pictorial diagram showing where the terminals go are different to the ones written in the terminal assignments ones .
On the picture side you have terminal 4 going to ground and no 5 going to battery on m-unit.
On the written side you have terminal 4 going to battery on m-unit and no 5 going to ground .
Could you please tell me which is which so i can carry on and get it right?
Thanks
Merv

Question! why have a starter solenoid when you have the munit? doesnt the munit have an integrated digital solenoid? Shouldnt you just put a fuse on the connection?

What are the dimensions of the solenoid? I'm fabricating the electrics tray and I want to make sure I have enough room to include this in there.

Hey Stefan, just getting my kit together (totally new to wiring) and have appeared to have gotten one of the tiny metal connectors stuck in the waterproof connector, pullout out the stripped cable. Any hand tips for getting this thing out? Looks like its in there pretty good..
