That's an interesting strumming pattern I've never heard anybody do. I don't mean the cross picking.

Sounds beautiful and although cross picking is happening your description is in accurate. You can cross pick and all pick strokes be the same direction. I’ve even seen Wyatt rice play this rhythm pattern and the individual notes be all down strokes.
