Is There Something Wrong With Being Called ‘Emotional’? | Loose Women

A tribunal has ruled describing an expectant mother as “emotional” at work is discrimination after a pregnant account manager says she was portrayed as “hormonal” when she raised concerns about her workload. The judge warned that bosses were at risk of stereotyping pregnant employees with “dismissive and belittling” language. But is there really anything wrong with being called “emotional”? Gloria can see some reason why a boss would have a problem with emotional employees, meanwhile Linda admits to hiding how she feels in her personal and worklife to avoid judgement. Denise is no stranger to being called emotional, and has developed a thicker skin to deal with it.

Physical pain does get treated so different to emotional pain…there is so much education to be done on this front.

Hey Denise, how about your comments on "Kate Middleton" as you always call her, who you relentlessly heckled for taking time out to have major surgery before it was even revealed how much more she was going through?

Denise gets right up my hoop, she's sanctimonious, smug and loves the sound of her own voice.

If you are emotional and it does impact your work, then it has to be addressed. It's like we can't use terms, that accurately describe the situation. ITS NOT WHAT YOU SAY, ITS HOW YOU SAY IT. It's called DIPLOMACY

What does it matter as long as the job is getting done? Do your job the way its supposed to be done and in the time that its supposed to be done. I can cry and work at the same time. lol

''I hadn't eaten for three weeks.'' How is that even possible? My friend was almost at death's door on the 4th day of not eating.

I would have flipped the script and asked the "boss" if they're on the rag, and do they need a midol?
