Hi! Thanks for visiting the Channel!
In this video, we take a look at the Tamiya 1/350 USS Enterprise from 1984.
It is a kit of massive size and length, and therefore hard to film, but I tried to give you an impression of how this kit performs and what you get for your money.

Beautiful job!! I knew a gentleman who was a " plank owner, " ( member of the first crew, stationed on the ship), after commissioning, in the early 1960's. I'm honored to have known him. Thank you for sharing. Your model is awesome!!

I built this ship kit a few years ago. Had fun! Went crazy with it. Photo etch, all the fun. I got it about 90% done then disaster happened. It got knocked off the table, and was really messed up. I tried fixing it, but the photo etch was wrecked, decking came off, island too. Was sad to just put it in a closet. Some day I will attempt to repair it again.

Awesome build, I built a similar 1/350th USS Enterprise from Monogram in the late 1970's with the original dome on the island, the hull was one piece, it was a fun and easy build for a 13 yr old, but when it came to the painting, I was still a novice, so decades later, I want to build another one and this time, convert the model into an RC.

Looks great! Thanks for taking the time to video the build. I have the same kit in my collection and look forward to the day I can focus on completing it along with over one hundred other kits I’ve purchased in the past. 1/350 scale for ships is my favorite, 1/48 in aircraft, 1/35 armor and 1/25 in cars. For my ships I’ve always ordered the full Photo-etched kits that were available at the time. I do have the kit for this ship along with extra aircraft I purchased from Tamiya. I believe the photo-etched kits I have came from Gold Metal Models. I’m giving you a 👍 and sub!

Luckily I got a 2 meter(6ft 6in+) by 1 meter(3ft 3in+) table for my model kit ready a long time ago so this kit is easy for me to assemble this kit.

Awesome build, I have the same model and am having fun putting it together, I hope my model turns out as good as your model. Nice job.

Un travail de patience pour un résultat splendide.👍👍👍

Nice job! Looks like you used your Applied Statistics course to handle the sheer size of this model! No "65" on the side of the hull. It belongs on the superstructure (island). The aircraft you identified as a F-8 Crusader is actually an A-7 Corsair II.

That is one BIG ship! I remember seeing it built by a friend of mine (back in the eighties) and I was awed by the sheer size....mind you....he didn't do anywhere near as good job as you. Great job, you must be very chuffed with the outcome....hope you have a shelf big enough for it. 😜

I build it 4 years ago.
The 65 don't belong on the bow but on the island. The big 65 on deck
Overal nice build

I expected more from this kit. I have one at the starting gate. It is near X-mas in 2021 & I had got this kit a couple of years ago because of the movie "Big" in which it had it's debut as it had just been released. I also was lucky enough to actually visit the carrier during port of call in Mombasa, Kenya back in 77'. Also spent the night on the Enterprise as it was too late to catch a landing craft to my boat. I served on the U.S.S. Tautog. A fast attack submarine operating with the fleet. We to the craft to the carrier then caught a regular small boat to shore. Mombasa is also where Roland the headless Thompson gunner caught up to tha SOB Van Owen in song by Warren Zevon.
