See this everyday at work in prison. A lot of these younger kids (just a few years younger than me) Don't understand what the game really is. They think this shit starts and ends at getting money and running from the cops. Losing your stash and getting it back.

The game is the whole justice system. The prison industrial complex, the for profit legal system, the legislation that sets up generational incarceration.

They don't know how deep it runs, and they don't find out until it's too late.

I try to tell as many as I can and encourage them and inform them of other avenues to survive out there both fiscally and socially.

If it's not the money for many of them, or the drug addiction, often it ends up being the loneliness, the ostracization, that gets them back into the shit.

We really need something as popular as gangster rap, to counteract the negativity. I don't know what it can be. Living right isn't as compelling as the hard-core street narrative.
