Maren Makes It…. through my first time trying Rent-the-Runway on camera!!
If you’re not familiar with Rent the Runway, it is a clothing rental service that works similarly to a subscription box in that you pay on a monthly basis. The plan I chose allows you to get 4 items at a time with a total of 8 in a month. This means you can basically switch everything out every 2 weeks. You can also decide to keep an item for more time, and just switch out some of the items in you have rented.
This app/website was something I wanted to try out because as much as I love fashion and clothing and changing out my wardrobe, I am aware of how bad for the environment fashion can be. More sustainable options like thrifting and clothing rental are things I’m open to.
I tried to rent a variety of items for this video: a purse, a poncho, a dress and a skirt. Some of these items are sized in numerical sizing (0,2,4,6,8,10) and some in letter sizes (S,M,L,XL) and some are one size (such as the bag). Some of the fabrics I chose are stretchy while others were not. All of these brands are ones where I was not familiar with the sizing. I did all this intentionally, so that I could get a range of impressions and experiences to share with you guys to make this video more helpful for you.
You will see on camera all of my first impression about the packaging, the items themselves, as well as the return process.
I have a friends/family referral discount code you can use if you like (this is not an affiliate link or a sponsorship, just the same link that everyone gets for signing up): 40% OFF your first two months!
Anyways I hope this video will help you decide whether you want to try this clothing rental service yourself!
