Taxation is intrusion even before it's theft. Each tax is TWO crimes.

As a Christian, i pay taxes anyway. The church is not a building. The church is the people and we pay taxes. Therefore, the church pays taxes

Whose face is on that coin? Give to Caesar what is Caesar's... give to God what is God's.

Jesus paid taxes so yes we should pay taxes.

“And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which be Cæsar's, and unto God the things which be God's.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭20‬:‭25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“They say unto him, Cæsar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which are Cæsar's; and unto God the things that are God's.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Tithing is different than paying taxes. Tithing should come from the heart. Remember when the widow tithed her one widows mite? What did Jesus say…

“And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: for all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭12‬:‭43‬-‭44‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Jesus said she gave MORE THAN ALL… not more than some, not more than one, but more than all… something to think about…

It would have been a sin for Jesus not to pay his taxes. And that would prove he wasn’t the Son of God. Also, a pastor’s role is to preach about the Gospel, not opine about the perceived morality of taxes. A Christian layperson can exercise their legal right to run for office, write bills, and vote on legislation to affect taxation rates. Scolding your church members because they do not agree with your stance on taxes does nothing for your primary concern—preparing people to meet our savior.
