9v battery test

i had seen the vid by a guy claiming that his house burned down because he has thrown away some 9v batteries that he had taken out of his smoke detectors well he says that the battery had made contact and grounded out starting the fire he says to put tape over the ends of them to prevent fire well here is the test i did
