Derna destroyed: Landmines pose new risk to survivors

Thousands have been killed in and around Derna. The once bustling eastern port city now lies in ruins.
And while the death toll is still being tallied, crews are searching for more bodies.

The devastation in Derna was made worse by years of neglect and weak structures.
And Libya's long-running conflict has complicated the humanitarian response.
Aid groups are warning about leftover landmines that may have been moved by the floodwaters.
While foreign assistance has been sent to Benghazi, it's been slow to reach the most-affected areas.
