What Is Microsegmentation?

Показать описание
In this video, you’ll learn what microsegmentation is, why it’s important, how it differs from network segmentation, and how it can be implemented.
Also known as application segmentation and east-west segmentation, microsegmentation is the security practice of dividing data center and cloud environments into small segments to improve network security. It is often implemented as part of a Zero Trust Security plan.
Microsegmentation works by creating permission checks within the network itself to reduce attack surfaces and reduce network mobility. This, in turn, can improve policy management and data compliance standings.
Microsegmentation and network segmentation are similar, but have important differences. Microsegmentation protects data between devices and applications within a network, while network segmentation protects data flowing into and out of a data center or cloud environment.
