One cannot say swimming is easy unless you are drowning in river. It is not just flapping of hands and legs. Likewise, Discussing paper (in comfort zone) is one thing, and attempting paper in exam hall within 2 hours, in pressure with stake of loosing an attempt, an year and confidence and many more things, is another experience.

Very weird and random questions.
Since 2014, no such questions were asked in UPSC CSE.
They are blurring the line between CSE and PCS.

Don't say attempting paper in examhall with pressure is tough, even Toppers goes through with same, they don't cry like that after attempting the paper ...

2 READINGS Of the paper is impossible now... Don't listen to toppers strategies as they become obsolete with time...

I'm sharing my pain/learning here for others to learn from. I couldn't sleep at all before the exam and had to write the exam with only 3-3.5 hours of sleep. I couldn't sleep because of anxiety maybe. And trust me, lack of sleep seems to have been very detrimental in my performance. I guess my brain couldn't grasp the hidden hints in a few questions. Also, I have answered a question exactly in the opposite manner of what was asked (The Suba-Sarkar-Paraganas one).

So, I can't stress enough on this point people, a good SLEEP of 7-8 hours before the exam MATTERS!!

Btw I'm getting marks in late 70s/early 80s. I realised I could've solved 8 more Qs correctly had I had enough sleep and my brain could focus better. That would've added enough marks for me to have hopes of crossing the expected cutoff.

Nevertheless, in these times of despair and pain, I'm not letting me emotions affect me. I need buckle up and focus more on next year. All the best to all of you as well. NEVER give up!✌🏻🤗
