Another way to say it quickly is that where there is government, there are only libertarians who want people to be free -- so long as they aren't hurting anyone else -- and authoritarians.  You might not be as authoritarian as a dictator, but if you're not libertarian then to some lesser or greater degree you believe in using government force against peaceful people to achieve some social or political end.

I normally use Kaepernick is an example:

The GOP wanted him to stand for the national anthem.

The Democrats wanted all the other players to kneel during the national anthem.

Libertarians are fine with Kaepernick kneeling, even if in disagreement, having a bigger issue with being told to ALSO kneel

Yes, the most individual liberty possible and the least size and power of government possible.
That simply covers both parties, cause both have daily moved farther and farther away from this.
And I believe the founders wanted it that way.

Bad definition, however with the two party system we have now this is a great way of putting it to the average person who may not know what a libertarian even is.
