i have spent the majority of this year going through every time disney channel attempted to create a popstar and here is my first round of findings

Bella Thorn's TTYLXOX song is always so funny to me, because they made a big deal about bringing Bella's dyslexia into the show for her character, like she's talked about how she's dyslexic and how it really made her struggle in school and stuff. And then they write her a song where she's quickly reciting an assortment of letters. Like that just feels cruel lol

bridgit coming online to be like “so sorry for the misunderstanding everyone! i don’t have my phd i had to put it on hold for now because i adopted a child!” is so on brand for her. even when she’s actually not as accomplished as you thought it’s still because she’s being amazing.

Let It Go is definitely an interesting case. It was obvious they wanted the Demi Lovato version to be the version played on the radio (much like "A Whole New World" or "Beauty and the Beast" before), but the Idina Menzel version was way more popular.

Wanted to add a fun fact about Corbin Bleu's music, the rights to one of the singles off his album Another Side 'Deal with It' was purchased by kpop company SM Entertainment which eventually became a song called Juliette by kpop boy group SHINee. However this may be a fun fact to only me.

Wasn't Ashley Tisdale also pushed as a pop-star? She played Sharpay Evans in High School Musical and I remember she recorded a cover of "Kiss The Girl" from "The Little Mermaid". But maybe she was never officially signed on to a record label and I'm too lazy to research it.

Haylie Duff is the one singing for Isabella (played by Hilary) in Lizzie McGuire and some of Lizzie's high notes in What Dreams are Made Of. She also wrote some of Hilary's songs. So I guess Disney decided early on which sister they wanted to be the star.

Should have mentioned that Jesse McCartney plays Roxas and Ventus in Kingdom Hearts, he never stopped using his voice for disney

It is so wild looking back on how huge the Tinker Bell movies were. They had EVERYONE sing in those movies! Also Raven-Symone voiced Iridessa and Jessie McCartney voiced Terence. Those movies were so wrapped up into all these Disney stars and yet it isn't a movie series that is talked about much anymore. It's oddly become somewhat obscure in the realm of Disney movies :/ I say this as a hugeeee fan of the Tinker Bell movie series and all things Pixie Hollow related. It makes me sad that Disney has almost made them all obscure!

Disney Channel is probably most well known for its iconic stars. Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez were some of their biggest and have paved the way for other Disney channel pop stars nowadays like Olivia Rodrigo or Sabrina Carpenter
