My Kia e-Niro: first impressions

One of the first Kia e-Niros in the UK. What do I think? Watch on, friend.

Hope to pick up mine on Thursday - I changed from Gravity Blue to Graphite and after seeing yours I am glad I did. Just one thing Andrew - beneath the boot there are two layers of storage space and some people have said the granny charger is in the lower section.

Congratulations, you bought the right car. Kia and Hyundai cars are very good these days and with EVs they seem to be ahead of the traditional manufacturers by most measures.

Congratulations! I'm waiting for mine. I borrowed the demonstrator for 24 hours and was very happy. Until I had to give it back :(

Hey! Same colour as mine. It was in fact the only choice of colour from my dealer in France and the demo car was the same colour. The dealer made a big thing of presenting it to us..it was under a red dust cover and came with a bottle of champagne. Very French..as was the manual of course. They did supply both types of cable so I am able to charge at level 2 public charging posts. It also came with Niro floor mats, never understood why UK dealers don’t include those.

Yes, we have a happy face :) Enjoy the car, I have it now for almost two month and driven over 3000km and have a smile on my face. And yes, the steering wheel is not the pinnacle of design ;) I think they should have given the gloss black an aluminum finish and the airbag cover a less plastic finish. The leather on the wheel is nice though.

I thought it was only me that waved at other Leaf drivers (but only when my wife isn’t in the passenger seat lol).
Lucky you to get an e-Niro, now the supply seems to have dried up.

The Granny cable should be lower in the boot floor, it's orange in colour.

Why is it no-one ever mentions about the headlight leveling dial? It's like, here is the switch for the lane keeping, traction control, VESS etc. No mention that the headlights are probably set way too high and you'll blind everyone until you set them on ~2, and if you have a load in the back, you need to set it on 3.
Ok, I know you just got the car here, so I wouldn't expect any info on the settings, but it's strange that every review I've ever seen doesn't mention I have a hybrid Niro and the dealer didn't even tell me I could set the lights, so the first time I drove at night everyone was getting angry with me and I didn't have a clue how to fix the problem.

Your impression was similar to mine. Generally nice but they really cheaped out on the interior in the UK model. The Korean ones we saw on YouTube were so much nicer. Thinking about cancelling my order TBH.

Great car. The eNiro really is a great EV, just a shame they can't get them in the hands of customers quick enough.
