I'm (4B/4C) and I can relate to wanting my scalp to breathe chile! My hair isn't long enough to wear as a twa yet I'm still growing my relaxer out so I have to slick it down everyday 🙃.

I tried that style and hated it because like you said with all that gel it was so stiff. It was cute and good for a day style if your going somewhere but other than that I could not handle that stiff hard hair.

Love your journey, you have inspired me to cut mine off. I made an appt with a barber. I have ice length of hair too. My hair type is truly 4C. If you don't mind me asking your age? I am 41 and have greys. Do you have greys growing in with your new hair? Do you color your hair? Although I plan to wear wigs for the most part I want the option of wearing it short too without the greys.
