How significant is the $10,000 lightweight package for the 992 Porsche Turbo S? It subtracts 80 lbs from the overall package, resulting in 0-60 times in the *low 2's* and a quarter mile number in the 9's at 140 MPH. This is an insanely quick car, especially for only (I know, "only") $200,000. The world's most well rounded daily driver supercar has only gotten better, and faster accelerating than any 911 before it.

Porsche always gets crap for the 911 never really changing, just evolving. Porsche engineers have pretty much perfected this car because of that. It's an incredible achievement. Kudos to Porsche for making this. Hopefully one day I can own one.

For my sensibilities, it seems like Porsche always engineers the best possible “thing” among its competition (whatever that thing may be, and at wherever it’s price point lands). Love the brand

This is obviously the best car right now, but the lightweight package doesn't make much sense to me. The normal Turbo S is fast enough but comfier, and the GT3 is lighter and more track focused.

10 dB is a lot more than double the sound, sound energy doubles every 3 dB so 10dB louder is more than 8 times the sound energy in the cabin. That's huge, that's the difference between an S class and a WRX.

As a factory tech I can say I don’t see these in the shop for many big issues. Our sports cars are actually our most reliable platforms because we control the R&D on them from start to finish, and know people intend on keeping them for a long time. I actually prefer the feel of the 991.2 better but haven’t driven the lightweight package 992 yet.

Porsche is the ultimate manufacturer that understands how to optimize and create the MOST efficient engineered products. If you think about it, this is Bugatti Veyron 16.4 fast but more daily friendly.
