See how I built and setup a budget friendly a home theater, with a proper projector and 120" screen, you won't believe the quality you can get for the price.

In this video I review the whole process from choosing the components to setup as well as review the Benq HT2050.

*We use the **Bestt.Digital** projector along with the Amazon Firestick which enables us to pair with an external bluetooth speaker. It's been super fun, especially during COVID.*

Man, you have the best 'underground' technology channel; when it comes to information and honesty, it very easy to trust your judgment/ logic on electronics. Great video man, looks awesome.

dude, really one of the best reviews of a projector I have ever seen! Clear instructions on how you mounted the projector and set the image.
Thanks, this helped me a lot.

Hey Tech Freshness, could you give us an update on how this beauty is holding up after almost 4 years? How's the bulb?

I just went out and got the project, couch and screen.. All that I have to do now is save up for the house with basement. One paycheck at a time, maybe in the next 10 years I'll be there... I just gotta find a place in my one bedroom apartment to keep these thing until then. You gotta start somewhere right? :)

You nailed it dude, the finished project was amazing. congrats!!! :)

Got the same setup around Christmas (BenQ ht2050 and 120" screen) and it's absolutely epic. Way better value than any TV, and the BenQ projector is an absolute beast, even great for gaming with the low input lag. Always run it in eco mode to extend the lamp life (6000 hours).
Really great projector at a very reasonable price. Pro Tipp: don't try to save money on a cheap ceiling mount.

Dude, the way you speak in your videos is so refreshing. You sound like a normal person when going through everything, rather than talking like a freaking news anchor. Really sets you above others IMO

I bought my first Hitachi projector in 2001 when home theatre projectors were in there infancy. Brightness and contrast ratios were low, but with the curtains closed it worked great when watching movies with my Pioneer Laser Disc player. Projectors today have a lot more technology in them and of course are a lot brighter, my next purchase will be a laser projector. They use lasers for the light source and are super bright, good for bright areas like living rooms etc. Whilst top end home theatre projectors are more expensive, they give an amazing picture with excellent contrast ratio and a much bigger screen than any TV. To help the picture appear brighter for smaller / older projectors, it's ideal to have the room as dark as possible. Either painting walls and the ceiling black (floor should be dark carpet) will allow the light to be absorbed. If you can put dark or black curtains around the walls it will also help with sound absorption (less echo). Thanks for the great video, very useful for beginners!

It really inspires to own a projector. Finally i have decided to buy one for my home and 150inches screen.

RS-232 is for control systems like Crestron
Should have spent a few hundred more for a 3 Chip LCD projector which is brighter and gives you a much wider color gamut
but that's just what I would have done.
If I was you I would consider painting the ceiling matte black so you get less light bounce and plus it will probably make it look more like a home theater
also friendly suggestion Vivid is bad for your projector because its to bright not to mention over saturated colors and unrealistic skin tones
Cinema mode is best

Either love seeing people build there home theaters
cheers

Nice set up. I actually got the BenQ HT2150st with the same top mount protecting on a 135" screen. Every time I go back to watching regular TV on my 60" I'm just DAMN this TV is SMALL lol

Nice one. Great to see home PJ's, I'm a Home Projectionist, brought my set up on a budget of just £320 and a lounge room of 27ft by 25ft. Had my setup for 3yrs, 120" electric screen, Optoma HD 230x PJ, Powered by an old style Sony Surround. All equipment is over 5yrs old, and you still get the WoW factor from friends. BluRay movies are over whelming. Great to see people buy PJ's instead of TV's, you get more bang for your buck as they say. And most PJs are easy to fix. Thanks for sharing the man cave.

Techfreshness, I give you props on this! I totally feel the style and creativity you had with your room. It definitively brings a mello, zin-like mood. The purplish blue lights by the screen, looks like a subwoofer you got there in the middle of them too. Even your choice of furniture! Amazing! I also like what you did with the projector itself, hanging it on the ceiling. I bet that was a great project...

Really great explanations, thanks dude. I have never dealt with projectors or their screens, but a potential customer needs theirs repaired, so this video is really useful info!

Thank you for this video. It helped me a lot with my setup and install of my BenQ HT 3050 and 120 inch screen. My set up is almost identical to yours. Now when I'm watching my 60 inch LG it seems so tiny.

Old video, however, all I can say is "Welcome to the Family". Stopped using projectors back in 2014. On my third one now after doing some exploring. Currently using an Epson 2040 1080p. Pretty freaking solid for $599. All you need now is a solid surround sound system with a black diamond screen from screen innovations.

This is my first video by you I've watched and I really enjoy that you don't go into unnecassary technical specifics, you just use common sense and reasoning. Thanks for just being upfront and honest these are guides that are in my opinion the most helpful.
