I love Chanel's work. Her suits are iconic and everyone must recognize the suit Jackie wore when JFK was assassinated. I forgive artists a lot because of their art, but I would have a hard time with this one
Yet socialites around the world went back and supported a brand that should have been canceled and a woman that likely was influential in someone's death or imprisonment that they knew.

The Amiot mentioned (Wertheimer deal) was associated with the Missile boats of Cherbourg (That's to say the Israelis contracted his company to build them in the mid sixties ) . I suspect this was because of his decency in selling back the parfums business post WWII . But note that the Wiki article on him says that Wertheimer tried to sue him post WWII.
