Correction: The Lucena Position first appeared in a 17th Century book by Alessandro Salvio ("Il Puttino", 1634).

The position is named after Luis Ramírez de Lucena, spanish player at the end of the 15th century even though it never appeared in his work. This is due to an error by Johann Berger on "Theorie und Praxis der Endspiele" (Berlin and Leipzig, 1922".

Salvio attributes it to some "Scipione Genovino". We don't know who that is but if we are basing the name of the position to its first appearance in literature then it should be known as "The Genovino Position"
