Hamilton is an American musical written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. This project is a labor of love from an avid fan who believes that Hamilton is a modern masterpiece. This extended version of the show takes the existing Original Broadway Cast Recording and incorporates cut and altered songs from demo tapes and a live workshop recording. While the Broadway version is the superior and quintessential version, this cut offers Hamilton fans additional character insight, a couple of unexpected surprises, and a slightly wider scope of Lin-Manuel Miranda's brilliant vision.

Am I the only one that thinks this completely changes Eliza? In the original Eliza feels like she has a lot less agency, like a background character instead of someone whos supposed to be Ham's equal.

this gives so much more bacgournd. Eliza seems more realistically portrayed instead of the "oh well" in the original. Also love the mention of burrs family and daughter (rip what happened to her). It humanizes him much more instead of the original which portrayed him as a greedy despot

I feel like this was supposed to take place after "We Know." The way Burr says "If I were you I'd stick with her, sir." makes it seem like he knows about Maria.

I wish this and let it go were in the final cut

this version just shows how much Eliza knows Alexander. She knows she needs to go stop him from getting in trouble and even though Burr took her fathers position she still addresses him with respect, kindness, and asks him about his family. I wish this was the official version.

If Hamilton thinks his son has a chance at ruling Manhattan one day, he hasn't met me.

The scene(s) that should never have been cut!
*Philip and Eliza at home*
[PHILIP]
*Spoken*
Look! Grandpa’s in the paper! "War hero Philip Schuyler in danger of losing senate to young upstart Aaron Burr?!"
*Runs in to tell Eliza in the kitchen*
Grandpa might lose his seat in the senate..
[ELIZA]
*Spoken/turns to look*
I thought he was unopposed?
[PHILIP]
Not according to the paper he isn’t!
[ELIZA]
Go make sure the door is closed!
*Philip closes the door/Eliza continues reading*
[PHILIP/ELIZA]
*Rejoins Eliza/reading*
Further down, further down..
See Schuyler has a challenger from New York, New York
For senator...
*Both Look up*
Burr!
[ELIZA]
*Rushing around gathering papers/spoken*
I gotta go I gotta find Alexander!
[PHILIP]
*Watches confused*
Let him know we’re on his side?
[ELIZA]
No! He’ll consider this a personal slander; I’ve gotta stop a homicide!
[PHILIP]
Oh!
[PHILIP/ELIZA]
Look around, we should look around-let’s go and find your father down in New York, New York...
*Runs looking for Hamilton*
[HAMILTON]
*Downtown in a crowed*
*spoken/yelling*
Burr! Since when are you a Democratic-Republican?!
[BURR]
*spoken/cocky*
Since being one put me on the up and up again, hah.
[HAMILTON]
No one know who you are or what you do...
[BURR]
They don’t need to know me, they don’t like you!
[HAMILTON]
Excuse me?!
[BURR]
All of Wall Street thinks you’re great-you’ll always be adored by the things you create,
but upstate you’re the rascal who trades away the capital-
[HAMILTON]
Wait-
[BURR]
-the asshole who taxes the a-a-alcohol!
[HAMILTON]
I always considered you a friend!
[BURR]
I don’t see why that has to end, a senate seat was up for grabs and I took it
It’s not my fault people think you’re crooked.
[HAMILTON]
You’re gonna make a fool of me through my father in law?
[BURR]
There’s the kid who almost shot Charles Lee in the jaw. My god, your pride will be the death of us all..
Beware, it goeth before the fall!
[ELIZA]
*Enters in w/Philip out of breath*
Alexander, there you are!
[HAMILTON]
*Spoken indignantly*
Eliza?!
[ELIZA]
You forgot your papers.
*Turns to Burr*
Mister Burr, good sir, it’s been so long
How are the Theodosias?
[BURR]
As a matter of fact, my wife has taken ill...
[ELIZA]
I’m not surprised, what with the chill. You’ll send her our regards.
[BURR]
*Spoken*
I will.
[ELIZA]
And how’s your daughter?
[BURR]
She’s my pride and joy, fluent in French- and Latin!
[PHILIP]
*spoken*
So am I!
[BURR]
*spoken*
She’s the same age as your boy
[HAMILTON]
Yeah, one day he’ll run Manhattan-
[ELIZA]
We must be going, Burr! But send your girls our love.
[BURR]
*spoken*
Nice to meet your son.
[HAMILTON]
*spoken*
We’re not done, mister Burr, sir!-
[ELIZA]
*spoken*
Hon...
[BURR]
*spoken/walks off*
If I were you I’d stick with her, sir
[ALEXANDER]
*spoken/back home*
What in the hell was that?! What in the hell are you doing downtown?! Don't you know that Burr is going to run against your father to humiliate me and try to bring us down? I will not let our family be embarrassed like this! I'll grab a pen and paper, let the whole world know: You swing at my family you better not miss! You better have another punch to throw!
[ELIZA]
You could let it go...Stay alive for me...Let it go, live to fight another day. People will always be critical! They'll make the personal political! They'll try to knock you off your pedestal, your pinnacle! Let other people be cynical..
Let it go...
*Spoken* You're smiling because you know I'm right.
[ALEXANDER]
Ha!
[ELIZA]
And you know if the president were here he would tell you the same thing.
[ALEXANDER]
No, the president's not here—
[WASHINGTON]
*Random entree/spoken*
I heard about Burr..you didn't kill him did you?
[ALEXANDER]
Were you here this whole time?
[WASHINGTON]
Let it go...Stay alive for me...
[WASHINGTON/ELIZA]
Let it go...
[ELIZA]
Let it slide right by...
[WASHINGTON]
Let it slide right by...
[ELIZA]
You don't have to bring a gun to a knife fight! It's not a case of your money or your life, right?
[WASHINGTON]
You know you really ought a listen to your wife, right?
[ALEXANDER]
I know...
[ELIZA]
So let it go...
[BURR]
Talk less!
[ENSEMBLE]
Burr!
[BURR]
Smile more!
[ENSEMBLE]
Burr!
[BURR]
Don’t let ‘em know what you’re against or what you’re for!
[ENSEMBLE]
Burr!
[BURR]
Shake hands with him!
[ENSEMBLE]
Burr!
[BURR]
Charm her!
[ENSEMBLE]
Ladies and gentlemen welcome Senator Aaron Burr!
[ELIZA]
Ooooh
[WASHINGTON]
Let everybody know, you can take a body blow, let everybody know, you can learn to let it go...
[ELIZA]
Look around, look around at how, lucky you are to be alive right now..
[WASHINGTON]
Let everybody know, you can take a body blow, let everybody know, you can take a body blow. Let everybody know, you can take a body blow. Let everybody know, you can take a body blow
[ELIZA]
Look around, look around at how lucky you are to be alive right now. If somebody tries to lay you low...
[ELIZA/WASHINGTON]
Let it go
