Dr. Berg talks about losing inches, but no weight loss. This occurs when the person is gaining muscle, which weighs more - this is due to a spike in Growth Hormone. GH preserves muscle and even increases muscle mass.

The best indicator is if it's working to measure waist circumference. The body will tend to lose the midsection first and focus more on belly fat loss than weight loss to know if it's working.

Thank you for this. My clothes were fitting looser, and I was so excited, then I stepped on the scale and I weighed the same! I'm not weighing myself anymore!!

In 3 months I've gone from 34 waist to 31 and from XL to M thanks to keto. Nothing has previously worked for me. Going to the gym at 4:30 am and running the treadmill, eating 5 meals a day. Only cutting out sugars and reducing carbs did it. I don't gorge on bacon or other meats or bulletproof coffee as some advocate. I just intermittent fast and have one or two meals a day, eat plenty of salads and have chicken and salmon. Dr. Berg literally saved my life.

Exactly what has happened to me, only lost 7 pounds in 8 weeks but I've dropped 2 pant sizes. So I've stopped worrying about the scale and go more by what I'm feeling and looking like in my clothes 👍

Thank goodness I'm not the only one. Been 5 weeks and I've lost 2 pounds. Yet myself and my family have noticed I'm slimming out anyway. On the bright side, my mental clarity and stability have taken huuuuge strides of improvement, as well as my energy levels. That alone is enough for me to keep going. I'm starting to realize I'm not doing this for just weight loss, I'm doing this for my overall health. That makes me feel more loving towards myself.

Yes yes and yes, use your waist/pants as your measuring device and not the scale, for some people the scale has a negative psychological effect.

18 months ago i was 456lbs- but over those 18months have lost 132 lbs- which averages out to 1.8lb per week- and this last month the scales haven't moved but i have lost another inch off my waist- i have cut right down on my carb intake over those months, but stopped eating any type of bread from day one- no fizzy drinks no fruit juice etc-just real foods when possible-i still have a way (weigh) to go but your videos are excellent Dr.B.

My waist when from 44 to 36 inches. My weight has stayed at 190 for two months. No weight loss, only inches! But, I'm feeling way healthier!

I was getting upset. I work out 4/5 days a week.. I do 1 hour of weight lifting and 30 to 40 min of Cardio. Got on the scale this morning and I didn't lose a pound but gained two. I was devastated because I feel lighter and my midsection is getting so much smaller. My clothes feel different and in the last three weeks, I lost 3.5 inches around my waist. I rarely get on the scale these days because I don't want to stop working out do to disappointments. As usual, Dr. Berg came through with the knowledge. Heading to the gym to keep loving on myself.

Yep. Been Keto for 2 months, lost inches but only weight in the first 2 weeks. Just stick with Dr. Berg- the dude knows what he's talking about! 💥

Thanks so much for this info Dr. Berg and keeping it so simple. I lost 15 lbs in the first 5 weeks, then 2 lbs in the next 3 weeks. I love this doctor so much!!! I've only lost 5lbs so far doing keto, but I've gone from wearing a 2XL shirt to only a Large, my waist has gone from a 44in to 38in and my clothes are becoming more baggier. My own doctor told me to ignore the scale for the time being and I was hardheaded. I workout 5 days a week and I was like...why am I not losing anything? But this explained so much!

Thank you for this video exactly when I needed it to. I've been doing IF and have 1 meal a day, fast from 16-24 hours, workout and do cardio fasted but the scale won't budge but all my clothes are getting looser and I'm getting more cuts. Been stuck at 230 for a good 2 weeks but visually I look different. Thank you so much for this as I wasn't feeling great, but now that much better
