If you zoom in further it's just quarks, up down, left right, charm etc. And you see there's no clear distinction between proton and neutron, they can just exchange quarks and become each other, which is where the strong force comes from. That keep all those positive particles together even tho they should repel each other. Read this in school decade ago, may hv missed a few details.

essentially the electron orbitals are like the red blue and green on your TV, and the atom is the item that broadcasts those out so you can visually see the one little square of what is there.
and that brings even more sense to everything being a conscious illusion.

If a single hair strand had the diameter of the earth an atom would be the size of a school bus, the nucleus inside the atom would be about a single piece of rice and a proton would be a single grain of salt.
