Using Etsy to Buy Vintage: Tips & Tricks!

This video is VERYYYY long overdue, whoops hehe. A lot of you know that my response to "where did you get that?" is almost always "Etsy", hahaha. So I wanted to show you guys my process when I go browsing for vintage!
I hope this is helpful and/or entertaining, I love you all!!

You didn't mention one of the best ways to narrow results...perhaps you don't know about it. You can input keywords you're looking for like 'wool skirt' and bypass massive amounts of results by typing a dash or hyphen and then typing a keyword for what you don't want. So if I'm shopping for a wool skirt I would type "wool skirt -black -blue -pleated" to indicate that I definitely want a wool skirt, just please not black or blue or pleats. The hyphen informs the database to remove any entry with that word. I believe this also works for Google.

I'm always a little bit disappointed with the UK vintage offerings on etsy- all the gorgeous stuff seems to be elsewhere and have a huge shipping fee!

So proud of you!!! I wish that I could do this, but I am a big plus size lady and the plus sizes in vintage generally only go up to like a size 16 now or are in terrible shape. This is why I am buying older patterns to size up and make 'vintage' clothes for my size.

Vintage is 25 years and older.. So 1994 is considered vintage.... I have socks older then that!

Lol i bought the 80s does 30s burgundy sweather from the seller that was constantly showing, she's very lovely and clothes from her store are in really wonderful shape and quite cheap

I once bought myself the cutest blue vintage dress from the 50's, it fit me perfectly and it had amazing pockets. I forgot to pack it up when I was moving for college and my parents got rid of it. I still think about it and mourn its loss even though its been almost 4 years...
