Very glad you shared this - I was going to do my cable (I'm getting nothing at all) but will get them to fix it at the service.
Dare I say the drill sounds smoother at 70mph than a standard C-Six!

Top Tip: tie some cord on the speedo end of the cable before you remove the old cable, then tie the cord on the new cable and pull it

The reason the gauge was reading low it the magnet in the gauge lost it strength after so many years, all they did was magnetize the magnet back to it's proper strength. If you over magnetize the magnet the speedometer will report over speed, kind of a black art.
