What is OEE? you probably already know it stands for Overall Equipment Effectiveness. It’s a comprehensive measurement of a machine's effectiveness, it includes availability performance and quality.
OEE is a key metric for measuring the performance of your operation but many companies measured incorrectly or don't measure it at all.
In our 30 years of experience helping manufacturers become more productive and profitable we've learned a thing or two and we put that expertise into TrakSYS.
Using TrakSYS to gather real-time OEE is simple and effective here's how it works.
TrakSYS 10 comes equipped with standard reporting that is quick to deploy in our example of a packaging department you can conveniently monitor the operational status of multiple lines.
Aspects like current production order progress, status of the line and OEE for both the order and the shift as well as production details hour by hour.
A typical operator interface at the line level allows an operator to review a list of planned jobs that have been loaded from the scheduling system and start the next job to run on the line.
As downtime events happen on the line they can be manually triggered by an operator or automatically collected through communication with the automation Network, upon conclusion the downtime event operators can acknowledge the event, keep or revise as needed the downtime list, as well make notes to further detail the reason or resolution of the downtime event.
The KPI dashboard updates real-time as events occur as events are acknowledged Pareto diagrams are updated to provide analysis the most frequently occurring downtime event by subsystem and definition.
Tasks can be automatically assigned to operators at required intervals screens are easily customized to provide work instructions and means for operators to acknowledge completion of the tasks and captured user and timestamp information.
Journals can also be used as a valuable communication tool amongst operators or between departments for knowledge sharing
Historically software systems have been anchored to fix PCs and offices and LCD displays on the plant floor.
TrakSYS 10 is built with html5 responsive design which enables screens to self-adjust between PCs tablets and mobile phones. This allows valuable data to be mobile and available on the plant floor where it's needed to quickly and effectively resolve your operational issues.
